Great progress is being made on your new Tohatchi High School! Here's what's happening:
Electrical & Utilities – Power and lighting are being tested throughout the building, and the team is working closely with NTUA to complete electrical and gas connections. Frontier is also on location to install fiber optic and copper connections. You will continue to see dirt work and trenching as this work progresses around the new school.
Interior Finishing – Workers are installing ceiling tiles and sound panels. The administration area is in its final stages.
Site Work – Some landscaping, sidewalks, and fencing are being completed around the campus.
Furniture & Equipment – School furniture is on its way. Staff are also reviewing building operations manuals in preparation for opening.
Occupancy - We are on target to receive a formal certificate of occupancy the first week of July 2026. GMCS Maintenance staff will provide teachers with moving boxes this month, giving time to pack some items before the school year ends on June 10th. With the exception of furniture (which will be new), contents will be moved to the new building, throughout the month of June.
Football Field Restrooms – New permanent restrooms will be completed near the football field in late spring 2027.
We're in the home stretch. Thank you for your patience as we finish this amazing facility for our Cougar community!
